Who we are
homecleaningservicemelbourne.com.au is a free quote service for Melbourne households. We connect you with independent local cleaners. Your details are shared with up to 3 cleaners so they can quote. We are not a cleaning company, and we do not employ the cleaners.
What we collect
When you ask for quotes, we collect what you type into the form: your name, your suburb, the type of clean, your phone number and your email address. We also record that you ticked the box to agree to share your details, and the date and time you sent the form.
We do not ask for your street address, payment details or any government ID. Please do not add them to the form.
Cookies and analytics
Like most websites, we use Google Analytics. It records how visitors use the site, such as the pages they view and whether a quote form was sent. It uses cookies to do this. It does not receive your name, phone number or email from our form. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google explains how it handles this data in its own privacy policy.
Why we collect it and who we share it with
We use your details to find local cleaners who can quote on your job. We share your request with up to 3 independent cleaners who work in your area. They use your details to contact you with a quote. We only share your details when you tick the box on the form to agree.
Once a cleaner has your details, that cleaner is responsible for how they handle them. Ask the cleaner about their own privacy practices if you book with them.
Cleaners may pay us for the requests we pass on. That is how this free service is funded. We do not sell your details to anyone else, such as marketing lists.
Our website host and our email provider also hold your request, because the site and our inbox run on their systems. They may store data outside Australia.
How we store it and how long we keep it
Quote requests are saved in our website system and sent to us by email. We keep them so we can pass your request on and deal with any questions about it.
We keep each request in our website system for 12 months, then delete it. A copy is also kept in our email records.
The form sends your details over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Only the people who run this site can see the saved requests.
Your choices
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, ask us to delete them, or ask us to stop sharing them. You can also make a privacy complaint. To do any of these, use the form on our quote page and choose “Privacy request” as the type of clean.
If we have already passed your request to a cleaner, we cannot delete it from their records. Contact that cleaner directly and ask them to remove your details.
If you are not happy with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your details, we will update this page and the date at the top.
